Triangle

Frame a symmetrical or descending triangle pattern by placing corners at the pattern's boundary swings.

What it draws

The Triangle draws a three-cornered shape from three points you place, typically with a translucent fill. It naturally represents converging structures and wedge-like areas on the chart.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Triangle from the left toolbar (Shapes group).
  2. Click to place the first corner, click again for the second, then click a third time to set the final corner and complete the shape. Drag any corner handle to reshape it.

How traders use it

  • Frame a symmetrical or descending triangle pattern by placing corners at the pattern's boundary swings.
  • Shade the area of converging higher lows and flat highs ahead of an anticipated breakout.
  • Mark a wedge into which volatility is compressing so the apex, where resolution is likely, is visible.

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • Placing corners exactly on swing extremes matters; a triangle drawn loosely can suggest a pattern boundary that price never actually respected.
