Double Curve

Sketch a projected pullback-then-continuation path, curving down into support and back up toward the target.

What it draws

The Double Curve draws an S-shaped line with two bends between its endpoints, controlled by two shaping points. It captures paths that change direction twice, which a single curve cannot express.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Double Curve from the left toolbar (Shapes group).
  2. Click to set the first endpoint and click again for the second, then position and click the first control point to set the initial bend, and position and click the second control point to set the opposite bend and finish.

How traders use it

  • Sketch a projected pullback-then-continuation path, curving down into support and back up toward the target.
  • Illustrate a rounded transition from downtrend through a base into an uptrend in one flowing annotation.
  • Trace the S-shaped route price took through a choppy reversal when writing up a session review.

Settings reference

Double-click the drawing (or use its floating toolbar → gear) to open settings:

[Tab] Visibility checkbox + number range interval buckets: Ticks; Seconds 1–59; Minutes 1–59; Hours 1–24; Days 1–366; Weeks 1–52; Months 1–12; Ranges (each bucket has an on/off checkbox, most also a from–to range) visible on all intervals Per-timeframe visibility rules — untick a bucket to hide the drawing on those chart resolutions, or narrow the from–to range within a bucket.

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • With two bends to fit, the double curve is even easier to over-fit to past data than a single curve, so use it for illustration rather than prediction.
