Fib Spiral

Anchor the center at a major high or low and set the first turn through the next significant pivot, then watch later spiral crossings as potential turn zones.

What it draws

Draws a logarithmic (golden) spiral anchored at a pivot, expanding by the golden ratio with each quarter turn. Practitioners use the spiral's sweep to anticipate where and when price may turn as growth unfolds proportionally from the anchor.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Fib Spiral from the left toolbar (Fibonacci group).
  2. Two points: click the spiral's center (the pivot), then a second point to set the starting radius and orientation; drag the second handle to rotate or resize the spiral.

How traders use it

  • Anchor the center at a major high or low and set the first turn through the next significant pivot, then watch later spiral crossings as potential turn zones.
  • Use the spiral where straight-line tools fail — parabolic advances and blow-off moves sometimes track a spiral's curvature.
  • Note bars where the spiral's arc crosses current price levels; these are combined price-time attention points.
  • Validate by history: a spiral that has already coincided with two or three past pivots earns more forward weight.

Settings reference

Double-click the drawing (or use its floating toolbar → gear) to open settings:

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • The spiral is the most subjective fib tool — rotation, scaling, and anchor choice can place an arc almost anywhere, making confirmation bias a real hazard.
