Cross Line

Pin a major high or low so its exact price level and its timing both remain marked while you analyze what followed.

What it draws

Draws a horizontal and a vertical line intersecting at a single chosen point, forming a full-chart crosshair fixed at one price and one time. It pins an exact price-time coordinate, such as a major pivot, so both dimensions of that event stay visible.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Cross Line from the left toolbar (Lines group, or press Alt+C).
  2. One point: click at the price-time coordinate; both lines appear centered on it. Drag the center to reposition.

How traders use it

  • Pin a major high or low so its exact price level and its timing both remain marked while you analyze what followed.
  • Use it to study symmetry: how price behaves at the same level before vs. after the marked moment.
  • Mark the price and time of a key event (e.g. a rate decision spike) to measure subsequent reactions from that exact origin.
  • Set a visual reference point when comparing multiple charts at the same timestamp.

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • It is a static marker, not an analysis tool — a cross line at an arbitrary point conveys no edge by itself.
