Info Line

Measure the size of an impulse leg in price and percent to compare it against prior legs or to size a target.

What it draws

Draws a trend line that also displays measurements along it: the price change and percentage change between the endpoints, the number of bars spanned, and the angle of the line. It turns a simple line into a quick measuring instrument for a move.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Info Line from the left toolbar (Lines group).
  2. Two points: click the start of the move, then the end. The stats update live as you drag either handle.

How traders use it

  • Measure the size of an impulse leg in price and percent to compare it against prior legs or to size a target.
  • Read the bar count to gauge how long a move or consolidation took, useful for cycle and symmetry analysis.
  • Use the percentage change to sanity-check risk/reward before placing a trade (e.g. a 2% move against a 6% target).
  • Check the line's angle to judge whether a trend is sustainably sloped or climactically steep.

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • The displayed angle depends on the chart's zoom and scale settings, so treat angle readings as relative, not absolute geometry.
