Price Range

Measure a completed impulse to size the expected depth of its correction (compare against 38.2-61.8% retracement norms).

What it draws

Measures the vertical distance between two prices, reporting the absolute change and percentage move. It is the quickest way to quantify the size of a swing, gap or stop distance.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Price Range from the left toolbar (Measure group).
  2. Two clicks: click at the starting price and again at the ending price. The chart draws a vertical measurement band between them with the price difference and percentage labelled.

How traders use it

  • Measure a completed impulse to size the expected depth of its correction (compare against 38.2-61.8% retracement norms).
  • Quantify stop distance in points and percent before sizing a position.
  • Compare successive swing sizes to detect momentum expansion or contraction in a trend.
  • Measure gap sizes to judge how much of a gap-fill remains.

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • The tool measures anchor-to-anchor, not extreme-to-extreme — sloppy anchor placement on wicks vs. closes changes the reading.
