What it draws
Measures the horizontal distance between two points in time, reporting the number of bars and the elapsed calendar time. It quantifies how long a move, base or correction has taken.
How to draw it
- Pick Date Range from the left toolbar (Measure group).
- Two clicks: click at the starting bar and again at the ending bar. The chart draws a horizontal measurement band with the bar count and elapsed time labelled.
How traders use it
- Time a consolidation against the prior one to gauge whether the current base is mature enough to break.
- Compare the duration of rallies vs. corrections — corrections consuming far more time than price often precede continuation.
- Count bars in a pattern to apply time-based rules (e.g. minimum base length before a breakout is trusted).
- Project a past move's duration forward as a time window for the current analogous move.

Double-click the drawing (or use its floating toolbar → gear) to open settings:

Editing & managing
- Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
- Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
- Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
- Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).
Watch out for
- Bar counts exclude non-trading periods, so elapsed calendar time and bar count can diverge sharply across weekends and holidays.
