Horizontal Ray

Anchor the ray at the exact swing high/low or breakout candle that created the level, so you remember why the level matters.

What it draws

Draws a horizontal line that starts at a chosen bar and price and extends only to the right, into the future. It marks a level from the moment it became relevant, keeping the chart's earlier history clean.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Horizontal Ray from the left toolbar (Lines group, or press Alt+J).
  2. One point: click at the bar and price where the level begins; the ray extends right from there. Drag the anchor to move it.

How traders use it

  • Anchor the ray at the exact swing high/low or breakout candle that created the level, so you remember why the level matters.
  • Mark untested levels (e.g. an old unfilled gap edge or an untouched pivot) and watch for the first return to them.
  • Keep multi-timeframe levels tidy: higher-timeframe rays start at their originating bar rather than cluttering all history.
  • Track open positions by placing rays at entry, stop, and target prices from the entry bar forward.

Settings reference

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • Because the ray hides the level's left-side history, it is easy to forget how many times the level was already tested — check the full history before treating it as fresh.
