Rectangle

Draw supply and demand zones by boxing the consolidation before a strong breakout, extending the box right to watch for retests.

What it draws

The Rectangle draws an axis-aligned box defined by two opposite corners, each anchored to a price and time. It is the workhorse tool for marking zones because it spans both a price range and a time range.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Rectangle from the left toolbar (Shapes group).
  2. Click once to set the first corner, then click again at the diagonally opposite corner to complete the box. Drag any corner or edge handle later to resize it.

How traders use it

  • Draw supply and demand zones by boxing the consolidation before a strong breakout, extending the box right to watch for retests.
  • Box the opening range of a session and trade breakouts from its top and bottom edges.
  • Frame a chart pattern such as a range or flag so its boundaries and duration are unambiguous in a journal entry.

Settings reference

Double-click the drawing (or use its floating toolbar → gear) to open settings:

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • A rectangle's right edge is fixed in time, so a zone you drew last week will not automatically extend to cover today's bars unless you stretch it or enable extension.
