Trend-Based Fib Time

Use the 100% time line as the 'symmetry date' — corrections often consume about as much time as the move that preceded them.

What it draws

Projects vertical time lines forward at Fibonacci ratios (38.2%, 61.8%, 100%, 161.8%...) of the duration of a reference swing, measured from the end of a second point. It estimates when a subsequent move may complete, based on how long the prior move took.

How to draw it

  1. Pick Trend-Based Fib Time from the left toolbar (Fibonacci group).
  2. Three points: click the swing start, then the swing end, then the point the projection should start from (typically the end of the retracement); time lines project to the right.

How traders use it

  • Use the 100% time line as the 'symmetry date' — corrections often consume about as much time as the move that preceded them.
  • Watch the 61.8% and 161.8% time lines as secondary windows for turns or breakout timing.
  • Combine with price extensions from the same three points: a price target hit inside a fib time window is a stronger exit signal than either alone.
  • Apply it to consolidation duration — projecting the prior impulse's length forward hints at when the next impulse is 'due'.

Settings reference

Double-click the drawing (or use its floating toolbar → gear) to open settings:

Editing & managing

  • Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
  • Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
  • Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
  • Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).

Watch out for

  • Time projections are the least precise fib tool — treat each line as a multi-bar window and never trade a date alone without a price-action trigger.
