What it draws
The Ellipse draws an oval whose width and height are set independently, so it can be wide and flat or tall and narrow. It suits highlighting areas that are elongated in one direction, like a stretch of choppy bars.
How to draw it
- Pick Ellipse from the left toolbar (Shapes group).
- Click to set one end of the ellipse's main axis, click again to set the other end, then move the pointer to set the height and click a third time to finish.
How traders use it
- Draw a wide, flat ellipse over a stretch of sideways chop you want to avoid trading in the future.
- Circle a rounded top or bottom formation whose shape a rectangle would misrepresent.
- Highlight a cluster of overlapping candles around a news event when annotating a session recap.

Editing & managing
- Move / adjust: drag the drawing or any anchor handle; magnet mode snaps points to OHLC values.
- Clone / lock / hide / delete from the floating toolbar or right-click menu.
- Templates: save the current style from the settings dialog and reapply it to new drawings.
- Every action is undoable (⌘Z / Ctrl+Z).
Watch out for
- An ellipse's soft boundary makes it poor for defining precise entry or invalidation levels; use it for emphasis, not for exact zones.
