What it does
Shades or delimits the major market sessions — such as Asian, European and US hours, or pre-market, regular hours and post-market — directly on the chart background. It gives intraday traders instant context about which liquidity regime produced each bar, since volatility, spreads and behavior differ dramatically between sessions. Session opens and closes also act as natural reference times for range and breakout strategies.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Trading Sessions” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Mark the opening range of the session you trade; breaks of the first 15-60 minutes' high or low are classic momentum triggers.
- Expect volatility expansion at session opens and overlaps (notably the Europe-US overlap) and contraction in the dead zones between sessions.
- Use the prior session's high, low and close as support and resistance levels for the current session.
- Distinguish moves made on thin off-session liquidity from those made in regular hours; the former are more easily reversed.

Plots & styling
| Plot | Style | Default color |
|---|---|---|
| Session Zone | line | #2196f3 |
Every plot's color, line width and visibility can be changed on the Style tab. Precision, price-scale labels and status-line values are configurable at the bottom of the Style tab.
Tips
- The legend eye toggles it off without losing your settings — handy for before/after comparisons.
- Its price-scale label can be switched off per-indicator at the bottom of the Style tab if the axis gets crowded.
- Drag the indicator to its own pane from the legend ⋯ menu if it crowds the price chart.
Watch out for
- Session boundaries shift with daylight-saving changes and differ by exchange, so verify the configured times match your market.
- Session shading is context only; it generates no signals by itself.
