What it does
A visual study that recolors the price candles according to the RSI reading behind each bar, so momentum state is readable directly off the chart without a separate oscillator pane. Typically bars turn one color when RSI is overbought (above 70), another when oversold (below 30), and stay neutral in between; some configurations also distinguish the bull and bear sides of the 50 line. It fuses RSI analysis into the candles themselves.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Dext RSI Chart Bars” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- A string of overbought-colored bars in an uptrend signals strong momentum, not an automatic short; the first neutral bar after such a string often marks the start of a pullback.
- Oversold-colored bars appearing at a known support level flag a potential mean-reversion long.
- Use the neutral-to-bull color transition (RSI reclaiming 50) as a momentum-shift confirmation for breakout trades.
- Combine bar colors with structure: colored extremes at fresh highs or lows matter more than those mid-range.

Tips
- Double-click any of its lines to jump straight into the settings dialog.
- Save the configured chart as a study template (Indicators menu) to reapply this exact setup elsewhere.
- Right-click the indicator's line for quick actions — settings, visibility and removal without hunting through menus.
Watch out for
- The coloring inherits RSI's core weakness: in strong trends bars can stay in the extreme color for long stretches while price keeps running.
- Color thresholds are fixed cutoffs, so a bar at RSI 69.9 and one at 70.1 look categorically different despite nearly identical momentum.
