What it does
Lee Leibfarth's Premier Stochastic Oscillator reshapes the standard stochastic by centering %K around zero, double-smoothing it with short EMAs, and applying an exponential normalization that bounds the output between -1 and +1. Compared with the raw stochastic it is smoother, reacts faster at genuine turns, and spends its time in a well-defined band with natural extreme thresholds near plus and minus 0.9. It was designed to reduce the false crosses that plague the classic %K/%D pairing.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Dext Premier Stochastic Oscillator” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Crosses back inside from beyond +0.9 are sell-side triggers and from beyond -0.9 buy-side triggers — the canonical PSO signals.
- The zero cross defines short-term momentum direction and can time entries in the direction of the larger trend.
- In an uptrend, ignore the overbought signals and trade only the oversold hooks, and vice versa in downtrends.
- Pair PSO timing with a trend filter such as a long moving average so its fast signals fire only with the tide.

Tips
- The pane keeps its height in saved layouts, so size it once and it survives reloads.
- Resize the pane by dragging its divider; collapse it from the legend row when you need the space back.
- Use Add to favorites in the legend menu; starred studies surface at the top of the picker.
Watch out for
- Its speed is a double-edged sword: on noisy low timeframes it still produces clusters of failed extreme-hooks.
- Like all stochastics it measures range position, not trend, so using it alone in trending markets produces persistent wrong-way signals.
