Dext Humble LinReg Candles

A color flip of the LinReg candles after a sustained run is the basic trend-change alert.

What it does

Redraws the chart's candles using linear-regression values of the open, high, low and close over a short lookback, based on the community 'Humble LinReg Candles' concept, usually with an optional signal moving average line. Each plotted candle is the regression-fitted value of its inputs, which smooths out one-bar noise while preserving candle anatomy, making trends appear as clean runs of same-colored candles. It is a readability tool for trend traders who find raw candles too noisy.

How to add it

Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.

How traders use it

  • A color flip of the LinReg candles after a sustained run is the basic trend-change alert.
  • Use the candle color together with the signal line: long bias when smoothed candles close above the signal line, short bias below.
  • Extended single-color runs identify trend phases where pullback entries in that direction are favored.
  • Confirm entries on the real price chart; use the smoothed candles for regime identification, not execution prices.

Plots & styling

Plot Style Default color
Signal line #FF6D00

Every plot's color, line width and visibility can be changed on the Style tab. Precision, price-scale labels and status-line values are configurable at the bottom of the Style tab.

Tips

  • Right-click the indicator's line for quick actions — settings, visibility and removal without hunting through menus.
  • Use Add to favorites in the legend menu; starred studies surface at the top of the picker.
  • The legend eye toggles it off without losing your settings — handy for before/after comparisons.

Watch out for

  • The plotted candles are synthetic — their opens, highs and lows are regression outputs, not tradeable prices, so never place orders off their levels.
  • Smoothing delays color flips, and in whippy markets the candles alternate color rapidly, negating their clarity advantage.
