What it does
Average Price plots the simple mean of each bar's open, high, low and close: (O + H + L + C) / 4. It compresses every bar into one representative value, producing a line slightly smoother than the close alone. It is a building block many traders use as a cleaner input for other indicators.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Average Price” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Use it as a smoother substitute for close in noisy markets: crossovers of price or a moving average against OHLC/4 flip less often than against raw closes.
- A close well above the bar's average price shows buyers finished the bar in control; well below shows sellers did.
- Feed OHLC/4 into moving averages, RSI or MACD to reduce sensitivity to closing-print noise.
- Compare it with the midpoint (H+L)/2 or typical price (H+L+C)/3 to see whether opens or closes are dragging the average.

Tips
- Save the configured chart as a study template (Indicators menu) to reapply this exact setup elsewhere.
- Right-click the indicator's line for quick actions — settings, visibility and removal without hunting through menus.
- Use Add to favorites in the legend menu; starred studies surface at the top of the picker.
- This indicator accepts another symbol — leave it empty to use the chart's own symbol.
Watch out for
- It is descriptive, not predictive; on its own it generates no trade signals.
- Averaging the open in dilutes gap information, which matters on daily charts of gapping symbols.
