Dext Total Rupees Volume

Use rupee-volume spikes to confirm breakouts and reversals: large money commitment validates the move better than raw share count.

What it does

Converts each bar's share volume into traded value by multiplying volume by price, showing turnover in rupees rather than share count. Rupee volume makes activity comparable across stocks with wildly different prices — ten lakh shares of a 20-rupee stock is far less money than one lakh shares of a 2,000-rupee stock. It is a truer gauge of the capital actually flowing through a symbol.

Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.

How traders use it

  • Use rupee-volume spikes to confirm breakouts and reversals: large money commitment validates the move better than raw share count.
  • Compare rupee volume across watchlist symbols to rank where institutional-scale money is active today.
  • Rising price on steadily rising rupee turnover characterizes healthy accumulation; rising price on shrinking turnover is suspect.
  • Use average rupee volume as a liquidity filter to size positions realistically and avoid names too thin for your capital.

Tips

  • Double-click the plot to open settings directly, skipping the legend hover.
  • The pane keeps its height in saved layouts, so size it once and it survives reloads.
  • Resize the pane by dragging its divider; collapse it from the legend row when you need the space back.

Watch out for

  • High turnover can come from churn, index events or block deals rather than directional conviction; check the context of a spike.
  • Approximating value as close times volume misstates true turnover on wide-range bars where trade was distributed across many prices.
