What it does
The Aroon Oscillator condenses the two Aroon lines into one by subtracting Aroon Down from Aroon Up, giving a single line that swings between +100 and -100. Positive values mean the most recent 25-bar high is fresher than the low (upward pressure), negative values the opposite. It carries the same information as the Aroon pair in an easier-to-read form.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Aroon Oscillator” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Use the zero line for bias: above zero favors uptrends, below zero downtrends, and zero crosses mark potential trend changes.
- Treat readings beyond +50 or -50 as confirmation of a strong established trend.
- Watch oscillator direction: falling from +100 while price stalls warns the uptrend is aging even before a zero cross.
- Combine with a volatility or volume filter to avoid acting on zero crosses inside tight ranges.

Tips
- Hide the study from the legend eye instead of removing it when you only want it out of the way temporarily.
- Merge multiple oscillators into one pane from the legend ⋯ menu to compare them on a shared axis.
- Double-click the plot to open settings directly, skipping the legend hover.
- A custom timeframe input lets it compute on a higher interval than the chart.
Watch out for
- It inherits Aroon's blindness to move size and its abrupt jumps when extremes drop out of the lookback window.
- Zero-line crosses come frequently and unreliably in sideways markets.
