What it does
Implements the zero-lag exponential moving average concept from Ehlers and Ric Way: it estimates the EMA's inherent lag and adds a momentum correction term (price plus the difference between price and a lagged price) before smoothing, so the resulting average hugs price far more closely than a standard EMA of the same length. The goal is trend tracking with minimal delay, at the cost of some extra sensitivity. Crossovers and slope changes therefore appear earlier than on conventional averages.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Dext Zero Lag EMA v2” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Use price crossing the zero-lag EMA, or the line's own slope flip, as an early trend-change trigger.
- Pair it with a standard EMA of the same length: the gap between the two visualizes how much lag has been removed and their crossover is a momentum signal.
- In trending phases, treat pullbacks that touch and respect the zero-lag EMA as continuation entries.
- Filter its fast signals with a higher-timeframe trend measure to avoid trading every wiggle.

Tips
- Drag the indicator to its own pane from the legend ⋯ menu if it crowds the price chart.
- Double-click any of its lines to jump straight into the settings dialog.
- Save the configured chart as a study template (Indicators menu) to reapply this exact setup elsewhere.
Watch out for
- Removing lag re-introduces noise: the line whipsaws more than a normal EMA in sideways markets and generates more false crosses.
- The de-lagging is an approximation that can overshoot at sharp turns, momentarily exaggerating the trend change.
