What it does
Automatically detects significant swing highs and swing lows using a pivot lookback and draws trendlines connecting them, updating as new pivots form and old lines break. It mechanizes the manual chore of keeping trendlines current, typically drawing the most recent valid support and resistance lines and optionally flagging breaks. The quality of the lines depends entirely on the pivot sensitivity settings.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Auto Trendlines” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Use the drawn lines as dynamic support and resistance: expect reactions on first touches, and treat clean breaks with a closing bar beyond the line as continuation or reversal triggers.
- Prefer lines with three or more touches; more touches mean more market participants are watching the same level.
- Steeply sloped lines break easily and mean little — give more weight to shallower, longer lines.
- Combine an auto trendline break with volume or momentum confirmation before acting on it.

Every plot's color, line width and visibility can be changed on the Style tab. Precision, price-scale labels and status-line values are configurable at the bottom of the Style tab.
Tips
- The legend eye toggles it off without losing your settings — handy for before/after comparisons.
- Its price-scale label can be switched off per-indicator at the bottom of the Style tab if the axis gets crowded.
- Drag the indicator to its own pane from the legend ⋯ menu if it crowds the price chart.
Watch out for
- Algorithmic pivot selection is sensitive to its lookback parameter; small setting changes can produce entirely different lines than a human would draw.
- Trendline breaks are notorious for false triggers, and auto-drawn lines repaint as new pivots confirm, so the line you traded may later move.
