What it does
A variant presentation of the boring/explosive candle concept: it tags narrow-body consolidation candles (boring) and wide-body conviction candles (explosive) using body-versus-range thresholds, highlighting them with distinct colors or markers. Boring candles indicate the market is resting and accepting price; explosive candles indicate initiative buying or selling that displaces price. Read together they map the market's contraction-expansion cycle bar by bar.
How to add it

How traders use it
- Trade the transition: the first explosive candle emerging from a run of boring candles signals expansion beginning and gives a directional cue from its color.
- Boring candles appearing right after a strong impulse often form a flag; expect continuation in the impulse direction on the next explosive bar.
- Multiple explosive candles in the same direction confirm a trending phase; switch from fade tactics to momentum tactics.
- An explosive candle immediately reversed by another explosive candle the opposite way marks a battle zone worth marking as support or resistance.

Tips
- Double-click any of its lines to jump straight into the settings dialog.
- Save the configured chart as a study template (Indicators menu) to reapply this exact setup elsewhere.
- Right-click the indicator's line for quick actions — settings, visibility and removal without hunting through menus.
Watch out for
- Candle anatomy alone ignores where the bar sits in the larger structure; the same pattern means different things at highs, lows and mid-range.
- Threshold-based tagging can flip classification on marginal bars, so avoid treating single-bar tags as standalone signals.
