What it does
Linear Regression Slope fits a least-squares straight line to price over a lookback window and plots the slope of that line — the average price change per bar implied by the best-fit trend. Positive values mean the fitted trend points up, negative means down, and the magnitude measures how steep it is. It converts visual trendline steepness into a number you can track over time.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Linear Regression Slope” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Zero-line crosses mark trend direction changes: slope turning positive supports longs, negative supports shorts.
- Rising slope confirms acceleration; a flattening slope while price makes new extremes is an early exhaustion warning (a form of divergence).
- Use it as a filter: only take entries from faster signals when the slope of a longer window agrees with the direction.
- Extremely steep slopes relative to the symbol's own history mark unsustainable moves prone to snap-backs.
- Pair with Standard Error: meaningful slope plus low error equals a high-quality trend worth following.

Tips
- Merge multiple oscillators into one pane from the legend ⋯ menu to compare them on a shared axis.
- Double-click the plot to open settings directly, skipping the legend hover.
- The pane keeps its height in saved layouts, so size it once and it survives reloads.
Watch out for
- The slope is denominated in price units per bar, so values are not comparable across symbols or after large price changes without normalization.
- A single window fits one line to what may be two different regimes, lagging fresh reversals inside the lookback.
