What it does
An implementation of the Jurik Moving Average (JMA) concept, an adaptive filter renowned for combining heavy noise reduction with very low lag. It adjusts its smoothing dynamically based on market volatility and uses a phase parameter that lets the user trade a little overshoot for extra responsiveness. Compared with EMAs or SMAs of similar smoothness, the JMA turns sooner at genuine trend changes while staying flat through noise.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Dext Jurik Moving Average” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- Use the JMA's slope as the primary signal: rising slope supports longs, falling slope supports shorts, and a flattening line warns of transition.
- Price crossing the JMA generates earlier trend signals than crossing a standard MA of comparable smoothness.
- Run two JMAs of different lengths and trade their crossovers for a low-lag dual-average system.
- Adjust the phase setting to taste: negative phase for smoother, safer turns; positive phase for faster but slightly overshooting responses.

Plots & styling

Every plot's color, line width and visibility can be changed on the Style tab. Precision, price-scale labels and status-line values are configurable at the bottom of the Style tab.
Tips
- Double-click any of its lines to jump straight into the settings dialog.
- Save the configured chart as a study template (Indicators menu) to reapply this exact setup elsewhere.
- Right-click the indicator's line for quick actions — settings, visibility and removal without hunting through menus.
Watch out for
- No filter beats the noise-versus-lag tradeoff entirely; aggressive settings still whipsaw in choppy conditions.
- Public JMA implementations are reverse-engineered approximations of the proprietary original, so behavior varies slightly between platforms.
