What it does
A community-style enhanced MACD presentation: the standard MACD line (fast EMA minus slow EMA), signal line and histogram, augmented with dynamic coloring — the MACD line recolors on signal-line crosses, the histogram shades by whether it is rising or falling on each side of zero, and cross markers highlight signal changes. The mathematics are the classic 12/26/9 MACD; the customization is about making momentum shifts instantly visible.
How to add it
Click Indicators (ƒx) in the header.
Search “Dext CM MACD Custom Indicator” and click the result.
Hover its legend row and click the gear to open settings.
How traders use it
- MACD crossing above the signal line is a bullish momentum shift, below is bearish; crosses that occur far from the zero line are stretched and more prone to snap-back.
- The zero-line cross confirms trend: MACD above zero keeps the bias long, below zero short.
- Histogram shade changes (rising to falling) precede signal-line crosses and give the earliest warning of momentum inflection.
- Divergence between histogram peaks and price peaks flags weakening pushes before price turns.
- Use MACD signals as confirmation with price structure rather than standalone entries.

Every plot's color, line width and visibility can be changed on the Style tab. Precision, price-scale labels and status-line values are configurable at the bottom of the Style tab.

Tips
- Merge multiple oscillators into one pane from the legend ⋯ menu to compare them on a shared axis.
- Double-click the plot to open settings directly, skipping the legend hover.
- The pane keeps its height in saved layouts, so size it once and it survives reloads.
Watch out for
- MACD is built from lagging EMAs and whipsaws badly in range-bound markets, where most crosses fail.
- The enhanced coloring changes visibility, not information; it inherits every limitation of the standard MACD.
