Keyboard & Mouse

Every shortcut and gesture that actually ships — digit interval input, Alt drawing keys, wheel zoom, Ctrl multi-select, pinch, long-press and more.

One rule first

Shortcuts belong to the chart, not the page — click the chart once so it has focus, and none of them fire while you're typing in a text field. On Mac, every Ctrl combo below also works as Cmd.

Type to act

The most-used "shortcuts" are just typing:

  • Any digit opens the interval quick-input pre-filled with it — 15 ⏎, 4H, D, W. It auto-applies after four seconds if the value is valid.
  • Any letter opens symbol search pre-filled with that letter.
  • / opens the indicator picker.
  • Ctrl+K opens Quick Search, a command palette over actions, settings and drawing tools.

Core shortcuts

Keys Action
Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Shift+Z (or Ctrl+Y) Undo / redo
Ctrl+S Save the layout
Ctrl+, Chart settings
Ctrl+Alt+S / Ctrl+Shift+S Screenshot: download / copy to clipboard
Shift+F Fullscreen
Alt+G Go to date
Alt+D Data Window panel
Alt+W Add symbol to watchlist
Space / Shift+Space Next / previous watchlist symbol (watchlist open)
Alt+1 … Alt+9 Chart type: candles, hollow candles, Heikin Ashi, bars, line, line with markers, step line, area, HLC area

Drawing shortcuts

Two flavors here. The first group arms a tool for you to place; the second drops the drawing instantly at the crosshair:

Arms the tool Places at the crosshair
Alt+T Trend Line Alt+H Horizontal Line
Alt+F Fib Retracement Alt+J Horizontal Ray
Alt+E Ellipse Alt+V Vertical Line
Alt+A Arrow Alt+C Cross Line
Alt+X Text, Alt+Shift+R Rectangle

While a drawing is selected: Delete/Backspace removes it (a multi-selection deletes as one undo step), arrow left/right nudge it one bar, up/down one price unit, Shift+↑/↓ move it 0.2% of the visible range, and Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V copy and paste it. Escape cancels an in-progress drawing, or deselects. Ctrl+Alt+H hides all drawings at once.

View and scale

+/= and - zoom the time axis; Ctrl+↑ / Ctrl+↓ zoom the price axis; arrow left/right pan five bars when nothing is selected. Alt+L toggles log scale, Alt+P percent, Alt+I inverts, Alt+R resets both scales, and Ctrl+Alt+Q jumps to the latest bar.

Trading and replay have their own small sets: Shift+B / Shift+S open a buy/sell ticket (silently ignored with no broker connected), Shift+T the order panel, Shift+D the DOM. While Bar Replay is open, Shift+↓ plays/pauses and Shift+←/Shift+→ step — see Bar Replay.

The mouse

  • Wheel zooms the time axis, anchored at your cursor — it does not scroll. Horizontal wheel/trackpad delta pans. Ctrl+wheel is the trackpad-pinch path with a finer curve.
  • Drag the plot to pan. Vertical panning only engages once auto-scale is off.
  • Drag the price axis to stretch the scale (this switches auto-scale off); double-click it to snap back to auto. The same pair works on each oscillator pane's own axis. Drag the time axis to zoom.
  • Double-click a drawing to open its settings; on text-type drawings you get an in-place editor instead. Double-click also finishes multi-point tools like Polyline and Path.
  • Right-click is context-sensitive: on the price axis you get scale modes, on the time axis its own menu, on a drawing its menu, elsewhere the pane menu (copy price, paste, object tree, and more). If a drawing is half-placed, right-click cancels it.

Modifier gestures

  • Ctrl+click a drawing toggles it into a multi-selection; Ctrl+drag on empty space rubber-bands a selection rectangle. (Not Shift — Shift does other things.)
  • Hold Ctrl while drawing or dragging points for a temporary strong magnet snap; release and your configured magnet mode returns.
  • Shift while placing line-type tools snaps the angle to 15° steps; Shift while dragging a drawing's body locks movement to one axis.
  • Shift+drag on empty space is a throwaway measure ruler — no tool selection needed.

Touch

One finger pans; two fingers pinch-zoom around the midpoint. A 500 ms long-press on empty space enters a touch crosshair mode that follows your finger; on a drawing it selects and opens the context menu. While you're mid-drawing, a stray second finger is ignored rather than destroying the work, and the magnet's snap radius widens from 50 to 80 pixels.

Crosshair and magnet

The first group on the drawing rail picks the cursor: crosshair (with or without tooltip), pointer, presentation dot, plain dot, or eraser (click deletes drawings). The magnet button near the rail's bottom offers Weak Magnet — snaps to O/H/L/C only within 50 px — and Strong Magnet, which always snaps; clicking the active mode switches the magnet off. There is no keyboard toggle for either — use the rail, or the temporary Ctrl hold.
